Making Finland More International

Our March 2016 speaker was Kristiina Helenius, the CEO of AmCham in Finland, which has over 400 corporate members headquartered in 20 different countries. After a childhood in Finland, Helenius worked as a journalist in Munich, Korea, Paris, Brussels, and Washington, D.C. When she moved back, Helenius noted that she left Finland as a young woman and returned as a full-fledged grown up and mother – seeing her own country with a new set of eyes. This has helped in her work to help create a “national brand” for Finland and turn it into a place where international corporations choose to do business. Finland is lucky to have such a dynamic and positive person working to open her country more to the rest of the world.
